Let's read the letter that I received from my building manager about noise in my apartment. But first, let's make a coffee. For today's pod, we're using the cinnamon apple crisp pod, and I think this is my last one, which is very sad, but we're going to get this brewing. First, we have to start with our maple pancake syrup. And I like lots, so if you don't like your coffee sweet, maybe do less. I did not know that receiving noise complaints from downstairs neighbours was such a common thing until I got all your guys' comments saying that you went through similar things, and that this is like normal everyday living. So now I feel a little bit better, but it's actually to the point where, like, I'm so worried that even me making this video right now, like, do we think people can hear me talking? That's what I want to know, because I don't hear other people talking, but, like, are the walls that thin that you can hear talking from other apartments? Because I can't be the only one who talks in my apartment, so I wouldn't think that that's that loud. I think I didn't explain very well in the video. The letter that I got was actually from one of my building managers, not my downstairs neighbour. I have never met my downstairs neighbour. No idea what she looks like. All I know is that it's a woman. Like, I could be in the elevator with this lady and have no idea that that's my downstairs neighbour who's complaining about my noise. A lot of the comments were saying to get rugs, like big area rugs, which I definitely could get more rugs in my apartment. However, I can't rug the entire apartment. Like, I'm not going to carpet the place just to soundproof it, nor should I have to. But I definitely could get more rugs than what I have. However, I still feel like that's not going to change anything because I'm not going to rug the hallway from my bathroom to my bedroom. Like, that would just be weird. I don't really know what she expects because I literally wake up, walk maybe 15 steps to my bathroom, get ready, which I'm very quiet with, like the drawers and my makeup products. Like, I try to be very, very mindful of that. And then I literally put shoes on and leave to go to the gym. So, like, it's not like I'm up for an hour making noise. There are a couple days where, like, I go to work for 6:00 a.m., so I have to make breakfast before I go to work. And yeah, there's going to be a little bit of noise, but sometimes people work at different hours of the day and you can't expect everybody to work a 9:00 to 5:00. But let's get into this letter. So this was October 7th. Today is the 13th, I think. So it says there's been quite a bit of noise coming from your apartment around 5:15 to 5:45, which is when I get ready for the gym in the morning, and it goes on for at least 45 minutes. You must realize that you are in an apartment, and in an apartment, living requires a certain kind of conscientiousness. You are on the ceiling of the apartment below, and you wake them up every day. I have asked you before to be considerate of your neighbours. Ever since that day I asked you to be a little quieter, I've gotten a letter from the resident below saying that the noise hasn't stopped. She also works from home some days, and when you get home, you are moving furniture around and she cannot hear the person she's on the phone with. I was wondering if you have any area rugs or runners, as this might help the noise situation. I would appreciate you making a sincere effort. Thank you. Mind you, I have never moved furniture around in my apartment. The only thing that I can maybe think that that noise is, is I do have a Ninja Creami. And if you own a Ninja Creami, you know they are actually, like, extremely loud, probably comparable to a blender. And I run it at night for, like, maybe 3 minutes. Like, it's not like all night that it's going. It's maybe 3 minutes. And I would think that if that's the problem she has, that my other neighbours would be complaining about that noise too, because you would think, like, my next-door neighbour could hear that. But nobody else is complaining. It's literally just her. So maybe that's the noise. That's the only thing I can think of. But yes, I do unload my dishwasher at night and load it back up, so there's going to be noise. Like, I use glass containers, so you're going to hear them being put in the dishwasher. I try to be mindful about how loud it is going in the dishwasher, but I can't help that. So I don't really know what they think they want me to do. That's the update on that. That was the letter. I feel like it's crazy to me that they're enabling it because you can't expect people to have no noise in their apartments. The update on that. So, let's try this coffee. That's so good. I haven't had that apple pod in a couple days, maybe even a couple weeks, because I haven't really been using them. And if you haven't made a coffee yet today, go make yourself a little latte, because the caffeine is needed for everybody. Cheers.
