I think my downstairs neighbour has it out for me and I have gotten four noise complaints in the maybe six months that I've lived here and most of them have come in the last month or two. But first, let's make a coffee. Today's Canadian Thanksgiving and my family did celebrate yesterday and I ate so much dessert and so much Thanksgiving turkey and it was so delicious. But because it's technically Thanksgiving today, I think it's only right that we do a pumpkin spice pod. And I'm going to do some of my maple pancake syrup. Now let's get this brewing. So I have two building managers and a couple weeks ago my building manager, I was leaving and she told me that I get up at 5:00 a.m. and my downstairs neighbour can hear me walking. I love to get up at 5:00 a.m. I literally get up, get ready, go to the gym. I figured the complaint was like, okay, I'll try and walk a little bit quieter. I don't really know how else to change that, but I'll try. So I've literally been like tiptoeing around my apartment so that it's quieter. However, then like a week later she told me about it again, like saying that I'm walking too loud and then I wake her up every single morning around 5:15, 5:45 a.m. like, you know, this is interrupting her sleep kind of thing. And I said, okay, again, I'll try my best to be quiet, but like I'm not going to change my lifestyle just because I live in an apartment. And I've lived in not an apartment, but like a multi-level house with different units in it. So it's not like I've never lived somewhere that's like you wouldn't hear other noises going on. Like I used to have downstairs neighbours that would like party all the time. So like I know what noise is and I'm a pretty quiet person I would think. Then the other last week I get a note under my door saying that I'm being too loud, like, you know, I'm still waking her up and nothing's changed and at night I'm moving furniture around, which I've literally never done. So now I'm just like already feeling like I can't live, feeling like I need to move, feeling like, you know, my lifestyle isn't made for apartment living, but where else am I going to live, you know? Like I don't understand how someone can be that sensitive to it because I don't really hear my neighbours that often and even if I do, like we're in an apartment and I understand you're going to hear noises. And I'm maybe more just like desensitized to it because I grew up in a very large family where there was constant noise all the time. The other day I was here with my niece, we were doing a baking day, like we were having so much fun. Literally like 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon, my other building manager came up to my apartment and was telling me that she's complaining, that she's been hearing us for three to four hours, that, you know, we're walking too loud and I'm like, it's 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon. I don't know what you want me to do. Like I don't know how to satisfy this lady. There's nothing that I can do other than maybe get another rug, but I can't rug the entire apartment to not hear any footsteps. So not really sure what they want me to do. Um, but I think the neighbour just has it out for me because when the building manager came up to me, he said like, I'm really sorry to have to tell you this, like she is complaining again. But he also told me that before I even moved in, when the moving truck pulled in to move my stuff in, she was already saying that she knows we're going to be loud, she knows she's going to have to move out because people are going to be loud. So it's like I hadn't even moved in yet and you've already made this opinion about me. So now I just feel like it's not even about me, it's just that she doesn't want anyone living above her. However, this is apartment living and I don't really know how else to change it. So, we'll see how this continues. I will keep you posted, um, if I get any more noise complaints because I even asked them, I said like, are other people complaining like my beside neighbours, like my next door neighbours, them? Are they complaining about noise? And he's like, no. So, I'm thinking she's just out to get me. Um, but that's my crazy neighbour story and we'll see how it goes. And if I end up moving, well, you'll know why. But let's try this latte. Perfect every single time. I am going to go add some ice to it. However, if you have not made yourself a little latte today, you definitely should and try and go have a good day. Cheers.
