Did you catch that the new Apple TV is $300? Because I remember the previous versions were like 150 and 180. So does the new Apple TV 4K fourth gen justify that price? Well, it now has three microphones on it, so you don't need a HomePod in the same room if you just want to talk to Apple TV. I have HomePods in my room, so they already, when I talk to the TV, they are connected to the TV and it does everything. So the only benefit of having that is so that you don't need to use the remote to ask it questions, you know, skip forward and stuff like that. And then the other feature is the remote is updated with Find My and has a speaker and stuff. So if you constantly lose your remote, that might be a cool feature, but I don't. The only feature I want with this new Apple TV is surround sound HomePods, where you have two HomePods at the front, two HomePods behind you, and they all mix together to do a home theater setup and you get surround sound. The only problem for me is that I don't think it supports the first gen HomePods, the big ones. So I have two of those as my TV speakers. It looks like you either need four big HomePods or four HomePod minis, second gen, and then or you could do two big HomePods at the front and two little HomePods mini twos at the back. But you need the new Apple TV to be able to do that. So that's $300 for the Apple TV, and then you need at least two HomePod minis, so those are $150 each, so you need two of those, so now you're at $600. And for me, my OG HomePods, I don't think are compatible, so they will need to be updated and that would be $600 for a pair of those. So that's getting quite expensive. So unless you really want microphones on your Apple TV, you want the faster processor and chip, and then you really want surround sound on the HomePods, I don't, I don't think you need to get this Apple TV. It's cool if you don't have one or if you're on a really old version, but if you have the previous Apple TV, I don't, I don't see a need to upgrade.
