If you have a 17 Pro Max, let's compare it to an iPhone 18 Pro. Is this an upgrade or is it a downgrade? So first off, there are different colours on the 17 Pro Max versus the 18 Pro Max, so depends on the colour, that could be an upgrade or a downgrade. So yes, we are comparing a Pro Max and versus a Pro, so it's a 6.9 inch display to a 6.3 inch display. The reason why I'm comparing these is cause some people bought a bigger phone for the better battery life, but it's just too big. That's what happened to me. I had a 16 Pro Max and I just ordered an 18 Pro because the 16 Pro Max was just too big for me. So I went with 18 Pro because it's actually quite comparable to the 17 Pro Max, but in a smaller package. So yes, they both have the same type of display, it's just the Pro Max is bigger. Both made of aluminium. Uh, they both have the better ceramic shield. The chip is slightly better on the 18 Pro with another core for the GPU and a dual 16 core for the neural engine. If we go down to battery life, the 17 Pro Max does have a quoted 39 hours where the 18 Pro has a quoted 36 hours. But on Apple's keynote they actually claimed that they were more similar. So I guess we'll deal with that when testing arrive. Selfie camera is the same. The rear cameras are about the same, except you get Pro controls and cinematic mode effects. So new camera features and you get that new variable aperture option which is just how much light can come into the lens. Both will work with Siri Intelligence cause they have enough RAM. SOS features are the same. The USB charging will be slightly faster. It's like 15% or I forget what those, what the quotes were, but it is faster. Um, wireless MagSafe charging is the same. And uh, they both can get up to 2 terabytes. So basically they are just about the same. So that means you can get a smaller iPhone 18 Pro with better cameras and it has a better vapour chamber inside it so it will stay cooler, which makes it more efficient. So you can get practically what was last year's specs inside a smaller body. And the Dynamic Island is smaller. So if you have an bigger iPhone and you're comparing versus a 17 Pro Max because you want the battery life. Or you could do the 18 Pro and you'd still get a really good battery life but in a smaller package. So I don't know who's really comparing this, but here you go.
