The new Tesla Roadster has finally been revealed, almost nine years after Tesla first showed it off. And I'll be honest, watching this thing on screen during the demo looked insane. So, here's what Tesla is claiming: 0 to 60 in under one second. 0.81 in the live demo thanks to cold gas thrusters, basically compressed air that's developed with SpaceX. Then there's a fan system underneath that sucks the car down to the pavement, good for up to 2 Gs of cornering grip. And on the top trim, enough suction to hold the car upside down even sitting still. Now, during the reveal, they drove it up an inverted ramp, hung it upside down, flipped it back down with the thrusters, and hopped it over a Cybertruck and a semi. Elon says it'll do over 230 miles an hour, that it's going to crush every track record that has ever existed, and that long-term it'll be the only manually driven car that Tesla makes. There are three versions: Performance is the road car, Thrust adds the rear thrusters, and Rocket is invite only, one seat, has thrusters all the way around and can fly.
