Apparently, Africans don’t grow hair, have beautiful smiles or have neat teeth according to some people online! 😂 The irony is that Africa is an incredibly diverse continent, home to thousands of ethnic groups, cultures and populations, each with their own distinctive physical characteristics, hairstyles and traditions. From the Toma of Liberia and the Ifẹ̀ of Nigeria to the Nuba of Sudan, the Himba of Namibia and the Bilen of Eritrea, African women display an incredible diversity of natural beauty. And yes, some African populations have a higher prevalence of naturally occurring gaps between their front teeth, but that certainly doesn’t mean every African has one! Trying to manufacture a hierarchy between Africans and Black Americans by mocking people’s natural features is ridiculous. Africa isn’t a monolith, and Black beauty isn’t limited to one particular appearance.
