welcome to a day in my life in Paris. it's just like Emily in Paris, except for the insufferable main character is me. it's 8 am and I take a double dose of Ritalin to try to get ahead of my raging narcolepsy. and before you ask, no they don't do Adderall here and no this does not work. shortly after filming this I passed back out and woke up at one pm. ignore the trash outside my door, this is my outfit for the day, schlubby chic. people ask me how do I fit in with the French and I tell them I don't like at all. 2 pm is the worst time to try to find food in Paris, but luckily my beloved neighborhood Devotions is open. hot tip if you want regular drip coffee and not espresso you want cafe filtre. most places don't do it but this place is Australian, hence the gorgeous avocado toast. broke out my sketchbook which I immediately spilled my latte on top of but made the best of it. this is the final product. I thought it came out pretty cute and because I'm trying to be less of a creep these days I actually showed the people that I was drawing and they were so nice and they took pictures and that was really sweet. now I've got to buy some toiletries and there's only one place to do that, the Normal. people talk a lot about French pharmacies being the best but unless you want to spend 25 for a bottle of shampoo, this is what I recommend. it's like $1 store of international products. everything is cheap cheap cheap and pretty good quality. I don't know if this hyaluronic acid serum works but it's only C7. Kleenex, all the international products that you might be missing from home. hot tip this is the cheapest peanut butter that I have found in France so far. feeling a sleep attack coming on so I rush upstairs to get to my super duper secret adderall stash. only taken 1/2 cause it's precious and hoping this will work in time to keep me awake. alas it is in vain because I pass out and wake up in time for sunset. last mission of the day, follow those cowboys. my husband called to say that he really wanted Buffalo Wings to watch with the Super Bowl which he has recorded and has managed to not spoil for himself after 24 hours since it aired. it's a good excuse to catch the sunset at the top of the sacré cœur. love it. at Corcorans supposedly has buffalo wings and um well I'm just gonna let you listen to me order. um oui bonjour..est ce que vous avez des... buffalo wings. oh God the answer was no moving on. if we move through the touristy part of town and into Barbès I'm sure we can find something and low and behold, Chicken Spot. this looks like it is going to be promising. this guy was so nice and he gave me a gigantic bag of chicken. this is me starting my work calls as I walk down the street with said bag of chicken. what you thought I didn't have a job come on now. adam's already pajamaed up and ready when I get home with the chicken and he is so excited. I told him to eat it for me and he did he did this. that's good okay but he did like it. and I'll leave him up here with Chris Stapleton while I go back down to my office to start my work day.
