But there's actually a few principles here that are really important to look at. First, right at the beginning, he interests the audience. You just want to hear this seemingly polite guy's reaction to these red flags. Does he live with his parents? Is that why he's reacting? Why is he wearing a suit? There's just a lot of quirky and interesting parts that build curiosity. And next, this one's obvious. He holds our attention throughout the video. That's because he's a great storyteller. It's also because there's a level of humor that is coming, right? At some point you realize, Oh, this guy's joking. This has to be leading to a punchline. And so we wait around for 3 minutes to hear that punchline. And finally, this is the most, but you have to have in order to get there. At the very end, he attracts a response, which for me was laughter, right? I'm laughing at this video. Laughter is a high arousal response, meaning I'm more likely to do something if I'm laughing about it, I'm more likely to share it, I'm more likely to hop on and comment because he was so funny.
