If you're building any type of consumer app, you're probably concerned with the network effect. It's basically where a business or business services get better the more folks that join it. Dating all the way back to the internet itself. The network effect also offers advantages to the businesses that successfully employ them. That's because they lock in users, especially on a platform where each user indirectly incentivizes other users to remain part of the network. Basically meaning higher retention comes to work effects. When it comes to network effects, this is currently what we're trying to crack. A little fun project is a social way to check in and connect with friends. Visually just honestly see what they're up to. One of our initial targets was focusing on foodies, so anyone who goes to restaurants or bars that likes reviewing different food items. What we realized was it can't expect users to tell other users. Especially on new applications. It goes back to the fact that if you want to build an effective network effect, need to almost force the hand of your users. By developing a go-to-market strategy and holding your users' hands when they onboard. For us, we had this really cool hypothesis. It'll be cool to see what your friends are doing or they can check in and review. Add photos and tag other folks. And you can view this all within your world. We eventually add messaging, see if folks wanna interact with each other. Now that we have functionality, we think people will use it. You have to force the hand of our users. What do I mean by that? We have to start small, create a closed community and so our boys Zucky did it. I'm thinking of starting at college campuses. Santa Cruz being our first. If anybody's out there that's interested is currently a student. Let me know. Always try building something out at your campus. Give me a DM if that's you.
