Bunim Laskin is a mid 20's founder. He's 25 years old and he's built this company called Swimply. And it is Airbnb for pools. And he's got a pretty interesting story. They raised $50 million despite being rejected on Shark Tank. He was looking for an opportunity to entertain his 11 siblings and obviously going to the pool is a great idea. But only rich people have pools and if you're lucky enough to have one, it's not like you use it all the time. So in his mind, he thought he could build a rental business around using people's pools, monetizing an underutilized asset. Bunim was on Shark Tank and got gunned down, but luckily it was televised right before the pandemic. So when everything shut down and pools were seen as like a safe, a low transmission risk, he was able to really capitalize. So Swimply has now helped over a million people rent over 10k pools.
