How did I become a Software Engineer?

How did I become a Software Engineer? Growing up, I was into everything. Sports, arts, languages, books, everything. But mostly, I was always on my computer. Even when I had no Internet. I learned to code at 15 so you'd probably think I knew what I wanted to do. Well, not really. I went to university for Intl Business and then I worked multiple jobs to pay for school. I worked in: marketing, at a Starbucks, I taught English and French, I did a Business internship. But when class was over, I ran back to my computer to code some more. At one point, one of my managers said that my resume being all over the place was a red flag. It made me look unpredictable. So a year later, I switched to Engineering 'cause I'd finally found what I wanted to do and felt good at. But when I landed my first developer job, I was anything but still. I went from back-end to front-end to fullstack and even picked up some design along the way. This time though, it was exciting 'cause I was suddenly able to build anything. My curiosity stopped feeling like a weakness. It turned out that in tech, being curious was an advantage. So if you feel lost because you love too many things, lean into it. You're not broken, you're built for this.
