Part 2: life hacks for how to have it all when you're working a corporate job and there are simply not enough hours in the day. Coming from a former co-founder of a multi-million dollar e-commerce company turned beauty marketing executive. First up is the two minute rule. This is one of my favorite ways to manage the mental load. If something takes two minutes, just get it done. So whether it's an email that you need to write or a text you need to respond to, don't let things pile up because the more that they pile up, the more space they take in your brain. Number two is set buckets in your life. So work, love, friendship and self are some of the buckets I have and every single week I pick one thing that I'm going to work towards that's a little bit of a bigger goal in each of those buckets. I know that realistically I may not get to everything, but at least there's one big thing that I'm working towards in each part of my life and so I'm advancing on a week by week basis. Third is default mode settings, which is this idea that sometimes you're just not in the mood to make a decision, maybe you have decision fatigue, and so you should have these default settings for things you wanna eat, maybe things you wanna wear, just anything that takes that mental load off and can just help you make decisions faster, especially when the stakes are really low on that particular decision. It's just not where you wanna be spending your energy. Four is mantra of the week. This is a little bit more woo-woo, but I love the idea of every week having a specific quote or phrase that you're kind of theming your week around. While it's woo-woo, I actually find it really helpful because it helps you process different situations. One of my favorite mantras is ideas are free, execution is everything, and it just helps me ground every single thing that I'm doing and connect me back to a higher purpose. Last is a walking gratitude list. I'm a big walk person, I love to take a walk in the morning and on that walk I will pull up a note on my phone. It's a note for the entire year where I have a template of questions that I kind of ask myself. It allows me to really process what's going on in my life, but also look ahead and get excited about things that are coming around the corner. I swear this practice has totally changed my life, so let me know if you want me to share a template and make sure you're following for more life hacks like these.
