Why are Chick-fil-A's closed on Sundays? They're so popular, wouldn't it make sense to be open every single day? Hmmm... probably not. Let me explain. First, being closed on Sundays creates a sense of scarcity. If you know you won't be able to get your chicken sandwich later in the week, it's more likely that you'll go today. Second, it lowers labor and overhead costs. If they pull in the same amount of customers Monday through Saturday, staying closed on Sunday saves money on wages and utilities. And third, it's better for the company. Sundays off equals happier employees, equals better service, which equals more sales.
