You know what, the reason I'm speaking out on social media so much about homelessness is because I'm tired of the situation. I've been working on homelessness since 2018 as a board member at the Salvation Army. And a lot of smart people have been working in that organization to reduce the hurt on our streets. And yet, despite all of billions of dollars spent in San Francisco and California, the number of unhoused people in San Francisco has only increased since I started working on this issue. The same dynamic is true in cities across the United States, despite billions more dollars being spent every single year. And also, people who are dying of overdoses has significantly increased because of fentanyl. In San Francisco, five times the amount of people are dying of overdoses now than when I started working on this issue. And it's absolutely insane. And all we hear from our lawmakers and our policy makers and the non-profit CEOs is they want more funding, they want to open more programs, add more complexity. That's absolute bullshit. Anyone in business, anyone who solved a problem knows that the problems often involves the simplest path forward. In this case, it means enforcing the law. It means starting to, uh, reject the status quo on our streets. Saying that you can go inside to pursue treatment, to jail, but you can't stay here. It starts with having some respect and saying the rights of 8,000 people who are on the street, the street because they are addicted to drugs, should not outweigh the rights of the 800,000 people who live in San Francisco. It starts with enforcing the law and helping people who can get and get back to independence. An incentive to do so rather than just asking them pretty better. And we
