Hook

Been working on a startup for three years and my mindset in the last month has changed into what it actually takes to be successful. It boils down to two personalities and one shared trait. Before I get there, I've been part of the problem though. I've been the guy on here posting, here's my million dollar prompt that will build you a business plan, help you come up with your idea, take you all the way through the final stages, and help you go sell it and market it in the future. That's just not true. Ideas are cheap, everybody's got them. Plans are awesome until you get punched in the face, everything falls apart. What do you do then? Nobody cares how many business case studies you've gone through or books you've read from founders. Your problems are going to be different. The two things that you actually need is execution and distribution. Put plainly, you need a nerd and you need a narcissist. Your nerd is somebody who can build your idea. They can build it very well and they can iterate on it very quickly. Your narcissist is somebody who is just extroverted and naive enough to never shut up about how big your idea is gonna be, regardless of how bad your current circumstances are. And the shared trait is just grit. It really is going to be far uglier and more painful than you imagine, so start taking pride in how much dirt you can eat.
