did she reach out to you or did you know this project was happening and you wanted to try something different and you pitched yourself how did this come to be? it it came to be from a a text message message. yeah it was it was the end of 2024 i was back in the uk it was like freezing cold in december and um i just got this text from emerald her and i we've we know each other a little but like we don't text that much and so i was a bit surprised to receive a message from her and she basically was like telling me about the project and she said you know i've written this this screenplay i would love for you to read it would you like to do a song and i read it and i really i felt so um inspired by what she'd written and i think in part because i had you know i was sort of in the middle of you know my album brat and the roll out for that i was really craving to move in a completely polar opposite direction and it kind of felt like this just fell in my lap or something so i kind of i said to her like would you be open to me writing maybe more than one song maybe an album? and she said yeah and that was sort of how it began
