okay buckle in because in this video I'm gonna give you the one thing that is the absolute and that is how I calculate my rates for brand deals. Every deal is gonna be slightly different, but let's just go through a simple breakdown and give you a really good illustration for you to go off. Starting off with that core ask from the brand, which will be the deliverable. Say for instance an Instagram reel or a TikTok. For that I calculate about 5% of my following count on each platform. Around 3 to 5% I think is like a good benchmark. Then getting into terms, we have like multi-platform use or cross-posting across each channel. I'll put forward about 50% of that original rate for the one video. Paid usage rights where brands put paid spend and turns that asset into paid media for a run of like per the best way to price that is to know the brand budget behind that paid spend actually is cause then you can price relevant to that paid spend. If I don't get that I'll do around like 20% of my rate for the video. Exclusivity is really tricky to price. It's always lots of different lengths of different, it can completely change how your income structure looks. But my aim and putting rates forward for anything around exclusivity, it's not to get the price, it's to bring the exclusivity term down, so bring the amount of competitors down and how long that exclusivity is for. All of this to say that when I put forward rates, I put them forward as an aim of part of my job, I see is to understand where that brand is at for their spend power for content creator work. If I want that partnership, I want the job and I want to do a good job at it. I have to deliver them value back for what they spend with me. So I can hopefully get onto longer term partnerships. I want to deliver value and I want them to rebook me, I want them to move me onto retainers and that has been the biggest shift in my income has been rebookings and retainers. That is a super quick whistle-stop tour of if there's any more detail that you want me to go into, if there's anything else that you want me to talk about, please ask away and I'll happily give any more illustration how I break it down, anything that I would do and hopefully you found this really really useful.
