How much you should charge per reel, math breakdown ⬇️ What is the formula to set your rate for Instagram reel posts? Follower count x ‘average impact level’ x 1.5 = $BASE RATE How do you define the ‘average impact level’ or AIL? There are 4 factors: 👉 Average engagement rate (av. engagement per post x 100, divided by the number of followers) 👉 Collaboration experience (how many years of collab experience you have) 👉 Industry impact (how much of a go-to expert you are in your niche) 👉 Expertise (how much knowledge, skills, and experience you have in your field) For each factor, I want you to give a rating: 0, 1, 2, or 3. Let’s say you have 10,000 followers: 👉 You should have a decent engagement (3-4%) as a small account, so let’s rate it as 2️⃣ 👉 You probably have 1-2 years of collab experience, so the rating is 1️⃣ 👉 You’re recognizable, but not a go-to leader, so 1️⃣ 👉 Let’s say you have a degree along with a small portfolio and client work experience, 2️⃣. Your average “impact level” = [Sum of ratings/4]/100 2+1+1+2 = 6 [6/4]/100 = 1.5 But turn the decimal into percentage 1.5/100 = 0.015% AIL So your base rate per 1 reel = 10,000 x 0.015 x 1.5 = $225. Keep in mind, as you and your audience grow, your impact level changes as well. You may have a lower engagement rate, but more collab experience, industry impact, and expertise. Also, the formula doesn’t include different contract terms that may increase your rate as well, that’s why this formula says “base rate”.
