I want to tell y'all a story real quick if you let me. 2015 I met the best woman that God could have ever blessed me with in season two of friendship because you know when you go to college that's season two of friendship. You got your childhood friends, you got your neighborhood friends, and you go to college that's season two. I was in a relationship with an idiot. I D I O T. He does not there's no other definition for him. He was an idiot because he saw that I had friends that truly loved me and instead of embracing that he demanded that I separate from them. I was young, I was stupid, so I listened. I thought that he saw something that I couldn't see and I was honoring this whole practice of being a diligent and God-fearing and walking with anything he says as partners. He's my friendship lord. But I listened and for five years the Spellman sister that I met on the very first week that I got dropped off on Spellman's campus was no longer in my life. I missed her birthday in 2020, I missed her birthday in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 over there. Let me tell you something. You can make mistakes, but when they let you back into your life, when they let you back into their life, you show them no matter you show them with all of your heart the extent to which you are sorry. So tonight doesn't need any of this. Her birthday is tomorrow. She has a man, she has friends and line sisters that will love her and more importantly, she never needed any of this for us to get back on one accord. We got back on one accord on a phone call. If I told you the story you'd trip out. On a phone call. Why am I telling you this? To make sure that you know that my ex was an idiot one, two, to make sure that you know that for a real ass bitch you do real ass things and three, if you in a if you in something right now with somebody that's telling you that you need to separate from someone, you better look at him and ask him why because wisdom and getting older helped me to understand. He couldn't believe that someone loved me to the extent that she did. He couldn't believe that he was about to have to be in partnership with someone who had a love like this in their life. He couldn't believe that he was going to have to compete where he couldn't compare and let people reveal themselves to you because it's through those moments that being young and dumb I wasn't able to catch on to what was happening.
