Hook

Hi, my name is Anta. I work in tech and I've been doing social media since I was 15 years old. I've said this to my friends before, but I would love to say it to you all in a public forum and see how many of you all agree. I believe that we need to stop positioning or pitching Instagram, Threads, TikTok, any of these apps to young women as social media or social networking sites when they are in fact a CRM. I understand that young women, and young men, but I'm talking about young women right now, spend too much time on that phone. We need to now, we need to now co-opt the time that they're spending on that phone and encourage them to build, um, data centers right from their phone, right from their phone. Um, they could be niche, they could be broad, but if they have, for example, the idea to sell a pen, but they do not have a market that is interested in pens, we need to be explaining to them that why they want to show Billy Bob and Joe what they did to their hair, they want to show Sally what they got over the weekend, they want to show their man what this other girl's man is doing for her, we need to express and explain to them that all of that is cool. But if you just take six months of posting nothing about pens, screen grabbing and screen recording videos about pens that have already performed well, in six months you can launch the dingiest pen possible, but at the very least you'll get 500 sales. 500 sales for a $3 pen, you do that math. I'm just trying to get the girls to get that this is 2026. It's not a game. It is that phone, but more importantly, it's how we're using it.
