I'm cheating on ChatGPT with Claude, day three. So today I tiptoed into Claude cowork and I did two things. So first, if you're anything like me, you download a ton of files and you have a ton of stuff in your download folder, including duplicates because download everything because we can't find what we already downloaded. And I also take a ton of screenshots, so I have a ton of screenshots on my desktop. I save things to my desktop. It's total chaos. So by way of testing cowork, what I did today is I said, okay, let's just try something. Can you look at my desktop, organize all my files into folders by type? So I gave it access to my desktop and it put all my files into folders. So that was pretty impressive. Then I said, okay, can you look at my download folder? My download folder is a disaster. There's a ton of duplicates because I download the same thing over and over and over again, version one, two, three, everyone does that. Can you clean up my download folder? Put everything in my download folder into folders organized by type. AI, clients, documentation, images. Can you create me some file structure in my download folder? And it said, sure, give me access to your download folder. So I did that. And then it organized 700 download files for me in like two minutes. So that was pretty impressive. Then I said, okay, can we set this up on a regular schedule? Can you run this once a week? And anything older than seven days old, organize into the folders that we just created. And it said, sure, let's set that up on a regular schedule. So day three, I'm getting my computer organized. Claude cowork. Pretty awesome. My husband's going to try it next. For all the duplicates, it's not just looking at the file name, it's actually looking at the content type, looking at the image and telling me if it's a duplicate image. Amazing.
