Who was the breakout artist of Coachella? There is one breakout set from Coachella. Slayyyter gets so big it just creates this wave of momentum that carries them throughout the entire year. And this was an insanely good year. So I have six predictions for my artist swatch after Coachella. Starting with FKA Twigs. Literally every single person I know who went to this set said it was the best set of the entire weekend. Like everyone I know who went was blown away. It was very dancey, it was very like ballroom inspired culture but there was also like influx of ballet, there was influx of like European rave scene and also this sort of like futuristic crazy sci-fi stuff we all know from FKA Twigs. I think this cemented her as like one of the greatest performers in music right now. Holly Humberstone has not only had one of my favorite albums as of late, but the visual era she is in is just perfect. Like doing this sort of like princessy shit you would wear to a Renaissance fair type vibe is so good, so fun for a concert. Not anything I'm really seeing other people doing. I I feel like it fits her so well, fits this album so well. If she like opens for Olivia Rodrigo on this next tour, I think she will have a Chappell Roan moment. Y'all already know how I feel about Slayyyter. Oh my god, seeing her up there, I could have cried. I literally I felt like a proud mom. Like it the set was amazing. She is it's just so cool when you can see everything clicking for an artist all at once. Like the music is the best it's ever been. The visual identity, this romanticization of like the Midwest and the Tumblr references and but it feels new and current and like the music feels so new. This influx of like dance music but also like rock and songs like Yes God. Like look at her, she looks like a rock star. I could talk about this girl forever. I think that this is probably one of my favorite albums of the year. I think Crank will be the song of the summer. This is my prediction. PinkPantheress is one where I feel like everybody has always respected her for her music and her talent as a producer, but something about this era I think is really selling her as a performer and her skills at world building and storytelling and just like what she's been doing with the plaid and the very Y2K and it's so British and silly like everything about what she has she is a curator of culture. Like she is a genius. The way the fact that she's had two number one songs and two albums is insane after only having two albums. Like I think that people have not really realized how much of a genius PinkPantheress is yet. This is one of my dream interview. Like one of the people I want most for this year. I would die. PinkPantheress, please. Cobra is an artist I just discovered like a few weeks before Coachella, but oh my god, this girl's music makes me want to it makes me horny. Okay. And it'll make you horny. Like that's the vibe. But in a way that's so fun and dancey. There's so much like dark electro pop. The performance she brought out Grimes, played an unreleased song. Like I think that also she's just going to be on a rocket ship this year. I am obsessed. Flower of Love has some of the coolest visuals of any artist out there right now. I'm obsessed with it. Like a giant high heel slide? Are you kidding? Starting your set with coming out of a giant miniskirt? Like the all of the backgrounds of her show are like completely hand drawn illustrations. It's just so like feminine and girly and fun uplifting pop. Like if you love Sabrina Carpenter, you will love Flower of Love. But you tell me, who is your favorite breakout artist of the weekend?
