Let's discuss some things that I did to get out of debt, $90,000 worth of debt that a lot of people might consider to be extreme, but this was just a part of my journey, okay? So for one, I literally cleared out every non-retirement investment account and threw it at my debt, which is crazy because a lot of people are like, what about the time in the market? I don't know you guys, like at the time I can't even justify it. Like I literally just was like, I had a couple thousand dollars in like a Robinhood, I literally cleared that out. Anything that was not like Roth or 401k, literally was cleared out and thrown at the debt. I was like, I'm going to figure the rest out on the back end. I was trying to expedite the process. I don't know if I would recommend for y'all to do that, but that's something I did just to fasten the process. Something else I did, which a lot of people probably would not agree with me, I literally stopped investing altogether. And okay, so it took me 22 months to pay off the debt. So from, I started September of '23 and I finished paying off debt in May of '25, okay? So from September of '23 all the way into January of '25, I did not invest at all. So in my mind, already of 2023, I was contributing to my Roth IRA. I can't remember if I maxed it out, but if I didn't, I came very close to it. So I was already good for 2023. 2024, I didn't invest at all, but with the Roth IRA, you could catch up with it on the back end of, or the front end of 2025. So that's what I ended doing. I did not max out the 2024 Roth, but I was able to max out my 2025 Roth IRA, um, earlier this year in 2026, and now I'm working on maxing out my, um, 2026 Roth IRA. Also at the time, I did not have a 401k at my job, so that wasn't an option of the matching or me losing money from that aspect because I just didn't have it. I only had a Roth IRA. But yeah, that's what I did to get out of debt quickly. It took me 22 months all together and baby, I love it on this side.
