Part 2 of things I’m no longer doing That social media has normalized Before I'm not throwing a birthday party every year for my daughter. I'm not doing it. Even for myself. I'm not doing it every single year. I remember growing up, people had birthday parties on milestone birthdays, so when you turn one, five, ten, thirteen, sixteen, eighteen. But now it's been normalized with every single year, you're expected to throw a party. I'm not doing it. Number five is having a car payment. Literally, I paid both of my cars off and when I tell you I'm riding these cars until the wheels fall off, I honestly mean it. I will say that I do have a small urge to trade my benz in to get a 100 a court. I don't care. As long as it works and I can record my content and take pictures and do the basics, that's all that matters to me. And last but not least, and this one is gonna be hard for me is feeling like every holiday has to be extravagant. Like I feel like it has been normalized when it comes to small holidays like Valentine's Day, Easter. They're pushing, especially for kids, for us to do big goody baskets every holiday for these damn kids. I'm not doing it. Even for my partner. I'm not doing spending thousands of dollars every time a holiday comes. Something I've been stopped doing years ago is getting a new phone every time a new phone comes out. When I was young, I felt like that was the cool thing to do. But baby, I don't even know what my phone is. It might be a 15. It might be a 14. I don't care. As long as it works and I can record my content and take pictures and do the basics, that's all that matters to me. And last but not least, and this one is gonna be hard for me is feeling like every holiday has to be extravagant.
