I need someone to explain to me why nobody is talking about Emma Grede's book launch marketing strategy. She is not treating this as a book launch. She is treating this as a brand launch. And because of that, I bet you we have way more start with yourself coming. I've been watching this roll out for the last few weeks, and it is one of the most strategically disciplined launches I have seen. to product launches not book launches. Emma is truly in a league of her own in that category. She is milking this with every single playbook that the best consumer brands use when they launch new innovation. it all comes down to the four C's. creative, content, culture. This girl is firing on all four. Let's start with how she's plugging into culture. The Start With Yourself book tour is not a book tour at all. It is a concert tour. Not only is she popping up in every major city, the entertainment is programmed but she's profiling women who exemplify the start with yourself brand. Each tour has a celebrity guest, and a core part of the show is Emma in conversation with these guests. She is bringing the lessons in the book to life, plugging herself into what is happening in culture on a hyper local level and adding value that can only be found to the people who attend her tour in person. And with regard to community, one of my favorite things that she's been doing on this tour is dropping copies of her book on subway seats so commuters, essentially her target demographic, can find them on their way to work. 11:30AM Start With Yourself subway drop Not only is this a surprise and delight, she is communicating one of the core principles in her book and one of the reasons why she wrote the book in the first place, which is democratizing access. She's not just trying to sell to a community, she's acting in alignment and that is what makes it feel so authentic. her creative is a glossy brand-first representation of the values that she's communicating within the book. She achieves this notion of omnipresence through strategic digital out of home placement on taxi cabs, urban panels and this larger than life Times Square moment. But it's her content that ties this all together and makes her advice feel relatable. It makes her experiences feel achievable. And no matter how big even if it's meeting Oprah and having her hold and promote your book, Emma's message is it's possible. It was possible for her and it is possible for you. By mixing high and low in her social content, she's ensuring two things A) that you see her content because it is platform native, and B) when you see the content, it never feels outside of the realm of possibility.
