I'm back with another thrifted DIY project for my pink Airbnb, and this one might just be my favorite one yet. I found this headboard at Goodwill for $8.99 and let's just say it's not going to stay a headboard for long. Today we're going to turn this into a charming little welcome sign for the front yard, so let's get started. What's a makeover without a fresh coat of paint, so I started by sanding it down to get it ready. Now it's time for the fun part and I have a very special helper here with me today, and if you've been following along then you've heard me talk about her before. This is my grandma, my dad's mom, the one who found the chandelier in her basement that's now hanging in the entrance area of our pink house. I think I get a lot of my creativity from her, so I'm really excited to see what we can come up with together for this project. Our plan is to put the address at the top of the sign in real numbers for everyone who's worried about the curse of address, and then we'll write Pink Dreams Cottage there in the middle. One thing this renovation has made me is a professional spray painter, so I did the gold and she did the pink. Here's a little glimpse of how it's coming along so far. I'm going to ask dad to screw in the numbers and then I also think it might be cute if I add some solar lights up here, and then obviously I still need to write Pink Dreams Cottage. Make sure you follow along to see the final reveal of this thrifted DIY project.
