This guy just raised $400 million with a single Instagram post, and every founder needs to understand why. So as you may have heard, Spirit Airlines just went bankrupt. There's lots of flights canceled and the internet is talking all about it. And while lawyers and executives were still figuring it out the details, this content creator named Hunter Peterson had a different idea. He posted one video. I'm the guy that flew Spirit Airlines for 24 hours straight. There's more than 250 million individuals over the age of 18 in the United States. Now if we took only 20% of them and paid basically the average fare of a Spirit Airlines flight which is somewhere around $30 to $40, we could buy Spirit Airlines. And in just seven days, he raised $400 million in pledges. Not from VCs, not from institutions, straight up from the internet. And to me, this only proves one thing. The most powerful fundraising tool in 2026 is not a pitch deck, but it's an audience. But here's what made this really work? His pitch first started just as a joke and he didn't even have a deck. But the thing is, it was timely, it was relatable, and it resonated with a lot of people. 3.4 million views here, 1.4 million views here, the boys show up with 100k. And that's the thing that most founders get completely wrong. They overcomplicate the message when all you need is just a couple of sentences that a 10-year-old can understand. Because the simpler your idea is, the faster that it can spread. And because of that, this guy was able to raise $400 million in just seven days. Not because he had connections, not because he had a track record, but because he had the distribution. And having an audience is not just a cool thing to have now, it's the most important moat that you can have as a founder. So let me know in the comments, would you buy Spirit Airlines with this guy?
