Read these books for basically a PhD in English. This is the assignment I guess that goes with getting your PhD. You have to have read 50 of these books. I do have a master's and I realized after getting one it was just a book list. I got this book list from another creator. Can't remember their name but I'll tag them in the caption. Well, I've read 56. Trying to make my way through the others. As I work my way through this list, here are the top books that I ordered. Starting off strong, Vanity Fair. I don't know why I'm dancing, I get excited about books I guess. I thought I had not read this book. When he wrote this, he was reforming from writing satire and boy was he having a tough time getting rid of that drug out of his system. The way this man has me cackling. This one's one I hadn't heard of, Mr. Tobias Smollett, The Expedition of Humphry Clinker. He looks like he's having some fun times. It is a tale of some kind of family travel published in 1771. It's giving like Canterbury Tales type of vibe. Let's see what this guy gets into, crazy shit it looks like. No, because if you haven't read this one, what, what are you doing? I believe that in my English degree, in my undergrad, they didn't make us read this. This is like the OG tale of the selling themselves to the devil stuff. Crazy shit. It's tiny too, read it. No, I am not that thrilled to read this next one. It's about a girl in the 12th century who wants to remain a virgin her whole life. As she endures some kind of emotional and physical torture. I tried to pick a couple that I had never heard of, this is one of them. The Life of Christina of Markyate. And the book that I love, but used to hate so much, Moby Dick. If I recall in my undergrad, my professor was trying to tell me that this book was all about sea. I don't think he was right lol. I'm actually enjoying this more than I thought.
