After seeing the backrooms movie, I suspected that someone in Kane Parsons' life loves Twin Peaks. I didn't think it was Kane himself though. So I saw an interview with him saying that it was actually his dad who was a Twin Peaks fan. And I can absolutely see how that has influenced him. And will continue to influence him because in the interview he says that he has actually never seen Twin Peaks himself. It's kind of been tangentially in his purview because of his dad. I think it's in a subconscious because I was screaming at all the Twin Peaks influence in this film. Particularly the scene at the end where they're sitting at the dining room table. It was 100% giving the Black Lodge. Like even with the little man and the lamp. So Kane says that he wants to dive into Twin Peaks after this. Honey, you are in for a treat. I think that Twin Peaks is gonna be his new inspo. Like he's gonna fall into this world and be obsessed. I can't wait for him to experience deeply the liminal spaces that David Lynch has in Twin Peaks. And it's not even just the Black Lodge. I saw influence of Twin Peaks all over this film.
