You're not gonna like this one. You're not gonna like this one. ChatGPT can now connect to your bank account. And the trade that they want you to make is insane. You give them your salary, every transaction, your investment portfolio, every credit card charge, your debt, everything. And in return, you get budgeting tips from a chatbot that makes stuff up half of the time. And that's not even the worst part. Hi, I'm Sara, I'm a product manager, and I want to help you understand what AI companies are actually doing with your data. Please do not click yes before you hear this and share it with a friend who's using ChatGPT because they deserve to know what they're signing up for. OpenAI makes money through ads inside ChatGPT. Why giving OpenAI your bank data is a horrible idea. Reason number one: Ads. Now that same company gets to see your actual money. Have what you bought last week and how much you can afford next. They will sell this data to advertisers and use it to influence everything that you buy. Don't believe me? They've just been sued for selling your private conversations to Google and Meta. Now imagine how much they will pay if that includes your bank account. And you're giving it away for free in exchange for budgeting tips, which leads me to reason number two. ChatGPT is not a financial advisor. It's a chatbot. It hallucinates and it will agree with whatever you insist long enough, including bad ideas like this one that will drain your bank account. And you cannot sue a chatbot for giving you bad financial advice. Reason number three: Security nightmare. And if that wasn't bad enough, you can put security concerns on top. Chatbots are vulnerable to both regular hacks and prompt injection. They can be tricked into revealing your financial information just because someone wrote a command on a random website. And if someone gets into your ChatGPT account, they will see your entire financial life and use it against you. Think of it. That's not very different from what OpenAI is doing. I really wonder how this is even legal. If you have friends using ChatGPT, share this video with them because they deserve to know what they're signing up for.
