A United Airlines flight on final approach in San Diego strikes something airborne. They don't know what it is at first. What could it be? Let's listen. Approach, United 1980, are there drones flying around here? UAL1980, not that I'm aware of. Do you have a report for me, sir? I believe I just saw the... like a red small object, like about 1,000 feet below us, to our right. United 1980, thanks. And do you know the direction it was moving by chance? Probably towards... towards... towards the west, heading 270-ish. Okay. Now, here's... this is semi-amazing. It's a small, reddish object. Drones are pretty small. I mean, even the bigger ones are about this big. Uh, 1,000 feet away, a drone this big? I mean, most of them are about this size. Uh, I don't know if anybody could see that 1,000 feet away. That's a long distance. Now the fact that it was red, I guess that would help. Um, we're gonna get some more amplifying details here towards the end of what actually happened and where it happened, more importantly. But these guys are kind of perplexed. They're flying in, and could this be a catastrophe waiting to happen? Absolutely. There are all sorts of restrictions about flying drones, and most drone operators are not aware of them.
