the art of STARTING OVER as a tech startup founder, ex management consultant and beauty brand operator The 2026 job market is ... well how do I say this, an absolute shit show If you are struggling or feeling stressed out, here is my extremely non linear career journey STARBUCKS BARISTA Was so down bad for a job I worked as part time barista at the Starbucks in the business school building Crazy enough I made coffee for a millionaire founder who hired me as an intern This opened the door to working in tech (even though I wasn't technical at all) STARTUP INTERN MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT Despite loving it, I still pursued the 'right thing' and became a management consultant (Spoiler: it sucked) MARKETING ASSOCIATE So when I graduated in Covid, I took a leap of faith and joined a two person skincare brand Nothing teaches you marketing like trying to compete with brands like Rhode lol TECH FOUNDER In 2023, I got dumped and let go in the same week. I felt lonely and uninspired, especially on social media So I decided to drop everything and build apps that were creative and let you express yourself in meaningful ways I was inspired by companies like substack, because of how intentional and personal it was to share your life and your thoughts But the barrier to enter was SO high, it takes forever to write an article So I started working on an app that made it easier and more fun to share by pulling memories from your camera roll CONTENT CREATOR Throughout all this, I documented my journey for others to see what ACTUALLY happens MORAL OF THE STORY? I got my visa, moved to NYC and raised money from Silicon Valley to make my vision of a more creative and inspired world a reality Starting over is one of the best things you can do for yourself, don't let fear stop you
