This is what a $1 million data room looks like

We just led a $1 million pre seed round into a brand new company. It's called YouPop this was a solo founder pre product pre revenue consumer company. I'm gonna walk you through the data room that she used to raise from us. So in the data room we have a table of contents which is nice Gives me a description of all the things in the data room And then there are six folders There's an overview and key materials That's number one two is financials three is product and technology four is market competition five is company docs and six is fundraise information. Let's get into each folder In overview and key materials we've got YouPop founder Vision and North Star This document was actually incredibly helpful in diligence really laying out the founders thinking in a narrative way beyond the deck Then we have the investor deck a YouPop memo comprehensive overview and then a prototype video In the financial section we have a financial model In the product and technology section we have UX videos a 12 to 18 month product road map a 12 to 18 month technical road map and a deck on the YouPop architecture overview So notable she's pre product but she's done a lot of work to tell me how this product is gonna be built and given me confidence that with capital she can build this thing Number four again was market competition so she's got a doc on YouPop defensibility and then a doc on the YouPop market opportunity and competitive landscape Company docs is gonna have advisory agreements the entity documents like Delaware C etcetera and then IP confidentiality agreement So it's got all the legal docs that I might need. And then fundraise information She has her reference sheet which was really excellent So it's hard to raise a pre seed round pre product pre revenue especially as a solo founder Now you don't necessarily need a data room that is this comprehensive but I would say in this case she was extremely prepared to show me that with preseed funding she was ready and raring to go And this was really one of the things that made it easy for me to go through diligence with her and really gave me a lot of confidence to get to conviction here and lead the pre seed even though it was just her
