People are driving over an hour just to pick up cookies from my home bakery. So come spend a day in my life getting 500 cookies ready as a 21 year old cookie business owner. This week, I had customers coming from Pickering, Etobicoke, Barrie, Waterloo. And if you're not from the Toronto area, these cities are all almost an hour away from me. I started right at 7:00 a.m. taking out all the cookies that was hand mixed and prepped yesterday. First up, I'm baking Teriyaki, which is the second weekend I've had this flavor on the menu. My customers go crazy when they have a new flavor, but also, I feel like Teriyaki is just one of those flavors everyone likes. Which those are baking, I'm making the mask cone frosting that every cookie will get piped with. It's so soft and delicate, so it gets wrapped and sits in the fridge until it's time to decorate. Next up is my number one bestseller for five weeks in a row now, which you probably wouldn't believe, but it's just my brown butter chocolate chunk cookie. As soon as they come out of the oven, they get extra chocolate on top, while they're still warm, so it melts right in. And then I sprinkle some flaky salt and top. Also, if you've been wanting to order or have been craving my cookies, I'm located in the GTA and pre-orders open every Monday at 9:00 p.m. on my Instagram. By 1:00 p.m. is a must because there's so much multi-tasking required on big days. Now I'm moving on to Kinder, which is the second highest ordered flavor this week. I've had a lot of people ask why I don't open a store or move into a bigger kitchen if I keep selling out so quickly. But if you don't know, I still have one more year of university, which is three hours away from my hometown. So for now, my home kitchen makes the most sense since I'll be baking back and forth in both cities next year. Now, I'm finishing off the day piping the Teriyaki Cookies with frosting and dipping them off with coconut powder. It's officially the next morning right at 7:00 a.m. again, which means all 500 cookies need to be packed my customers picked the most popular option which is one of each flavor in their box. Each box is getting a thank you card and now we're all set up for pick up. And I don't think I'll ever get over the fact that people are driving from all these different cities just to support my little home bakery and Markham. And that's a baking week and complete. I'll see you guys next weekend. Let me know what flavors you guys want to see.
