Google just revealed exactly what it's going to take to rank on Google in the future and here it is. So this was revealed at Google IO their conference and they just showed where search is headed next. It's AI generated answers, intelligence search agents and dynamic search results that are built in real time. That means one thing for you as a marketer and for a brand, it's getting cited by AI systems is becoming just as important as ranking on traditional Google. And while there are a lot of similarities, the signals that drive AI site citations differ from those in traditional SEO on Google. So basically, there was a survey done of 100 content marketers to understand what exactly makes content sitable by AI systems, like ChatGPT, etc. And the top factors were not backlinks or keyword density. And here they are in order. Number one, freshness and recency. I've talked about this recently in videos. 91% said freshness and recently of content is affecting their citations. Number two, structured formatting. Okay, that's going to have to do with schema and a little more nerdy, but you can look it up if you're looking at previous videos I've done on this, but structured formatting of the content is 79%. Okay, very high. Clear, direct language is 43%, almost half, being clear, being direct with people. Which, you know, listen, that's never a bad idea anyway, especially just for humans, but it also seems to be appreciated by the LLMs. If you want to see how you're doing on AI search, just hit this link right here. It's going to give you a free AI visibility audit, tell you exactly how you're doing and you're always welcome to book a console using the link in my bio to to find out more or review those results. But it's time to start thinking differently about getting cited in AI because Google has revealed the search playbook and it's here and we need to take action.
