Googles just released their guidelines for showing up in AI. I read the whole thing so you don't have to. Let me explain it in plain English and give you three clear things to act on this week as a business owner. And maybe even I'll throw in a bonus one. Number one, let's talk about your content. Google has said for many years, create E-E-A-T content. But what does that even mean and how do you do that? Experience, expertise, authority, and trustworthiness. Google gives a great example of something generic versus high quality. Writing a blog like seven tips for first-time home buyers is kind of generic, it's commodity content. These are usually things based off common knowledge that can be sourced from anywhere on the internet. Instead, the example they give for a blog is why we waived the inspection fee and saved money, a look inside the sewer line. This is still touching on points for first-time home buyers, but it provides a unique angle from the business, shows their experience, shows their expertise. Number two, let's talk about your Google business profile. Even with all these crazy changes, this is still one of the most important things for your business. Even if you think you have it filled out completely, go back and check. Make sure there's as much detail as possible, all the information is up to date, create posts, reply to reviews. This needs to be an active, living, and accurate hub for your business online. And number three, let's talk about site speed and mobile. Google explicitly said page speed still matters for AI visibility. If you're not super techy, the biggest things slowing down your website is probably your image sizes. Compress those, re-upload them as smaller file sizes, and that will make a ton of difference. There are other things that slow down your website, don't get me wrong, but start there. And for mobile, you need to make sure that the layout fits the screen size, the buttons are clickable, and overall the site is just easy to navigate on a phone. And I said there'd be a bonus, so here's the bonus. Get your business out there everywhere you can. Directories, review sites, discussion forums, your local chambers of commerce. AI is making this a search everywhere type of world, so the more places your business shows up, the clearer the picture is painted for these AI models and AI agents. I hope this is clear, I hope this is helpful, and I'm here for any questions.
