Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
I had a pretty viral car buying experience. So here are the three things I would change for my next car I have to buy. 20 years down the road because I'm riding this one to the wheels fall off. Number one is probably a hot take, but I'm going to over communicate with the sales people that I'm bringing my own financing. Most people recommend that you don't tell the dealership that you're using your own financing until the very end because they give you a better deal with their financing. However, in our experience that we had, me using our credit union financing is what broke the whole deal apart. Even though I had already communicated that way you guys in the financing and so going forward, I would over communicate. that. Like mentioned it multiple times so they would not be shocked at the end that I was not going to use their financing. Because typically credit unions offer better interest rates. Number two, I would work a lot harder to not fall in love with their car. As a lot of you know if you follow that series is that I fell in love with this Honda Civic hatchback with this red interior. And so that's what also made not getting it worse because I was in love with that car. So for the next time, I would want to be a lot more emotionally detach from the process. Not that you shouldn't love the car you're going to get, but that's what twisted that knife so much cuz I wanted that red interior. Number three, I did this well with the last one, but I need to even more stand on principle. Again, if you watched that series, you saw that we went back and forth with the sales people about the integrity of that deal. And it ultimately fell apart because of the credit union, but it should have fell apart an hour earlier when we were arguing about a deal that they told us we had through text. They told us that they would include carats for that price. But when we got there, they changed their mind. And after arguing for about an hour or two, they finally changed their minds back, but I shouldn't argue with them about that. So for the next time, I would not argue with the salesman about something they said. Like, I don't want to do business with So again, I hope to never have to buy a car again in the next two decades, but for some reason if I do, that's the things I would do next time.
