Let's see how much actually hit my bank account so I've been a controller at a level 5 tower for the past five years now in Connecticut and they range from a level 4 all the way to level 12 so I'm on the lower end of the pay scale for a traffic controllers and yeah we get paid by weekly so we have a total of 26 checks every year starting out with earnings I worked 80 hours at a rate of 46.81 per hour I work a total of eight hours of overtime this pay period so it's a total of 51 hours of nights I was a controller in charge or CIC as we call it for 24 hours I have this thing called controller incentive pay which is just extra pay we get for working at hardest to staff facilities which is actually going away next pay period so that's kind of sad I trained for a total of 12 hours and I work 17.45 hours of Sunday now time for deductions start with Uncle Sam Uncle Sam off rip took out $802 federal taxes then I had health insurance for me and my wife that's $182 which honestly isn't that bad but still kind of a lot it went up this past year I have FSA that's $42 per pay period so for my pension which is 4.9% off rip every paycheck this paycheck was $182 and that's mandatory I can't opt out of that I guess it's good in the end Medicare tax that was $71 bucks and for life insurance that was $16 bucks and I got extra on top of that which is another five bucks per pay period union dues that's a total of 56 bucks and we have state tax for Connecticut that's a total of 262 bucks for dental vision that's 43 bucks and for my retirement which is called a TSP roll is basically the same thing as a 401k that's $262 for Social Security tax it's a total of $306 which is actually insane so that leaves a total deductions of $2,243 leaving my net pay at $2,974 for this paycheck my paycheck actually varies a lot so it can be low as twenty two hundred dollars and sometimes as high as thirty seven hundred dollars it all depends on overtime night differential working Sundays if I train a lot or if I'm in charge as I mentioned the CIP has ran out so that be removed from my next paycheck so I guess I'll see you in two weeks with a smaller paycheck
