You need to look into your saving goals to hit them. Manageable saving tips to get started. First, build an emergency fund of £500. That is only £71 per month if you start in June. Open a separate savings account so you don't get tempted to spend your savings. I have mine with Moneybox. Automate your savings. Don't rely on your willpower, automate. Save your refunds, any unexpected money, save it straight away. Set a 48-hour rule before buying any non-essentials. If you still want to in 48 hours, then maybe you can consider buying it. Lastly, any money that's left over before payday, put that into a buffer pot. And that way, when you want to go out and do something, you don't have to dip into your savings, you have a buffer pot there.
