These are the top 5 ways to get web design clients. If I had to get web design clients from scratch, these are the top five methods that I would use. Number one is content. And I don't mean motivational content. I mean content that makes people see you who builds websites. Show yourself building websites, show before and afters, show client projects, show behind the scenes. The goal is simple. When someone thinks they need a website, your name should come into their head. And that only happens if you keep showing people what you do. Number two is the Google Maps method. Go on Google Maps, search for a business type plus a location. For example, plumber in Manchester, Birmingham, or cleaning company in London. Go through all the businesses on the maps. Some will have a website, some will have outdated websites. That's your opportunity. You can either reach out with your services, seen that you don't have a proper website. Or you can go one step further and make a quick concept or homepage worked on it. And don't just say, do you need a website? Like, I noticed that your business has shown up on Google, but your website can be doing a lot more to bring you more clients. That sounds a lot stronger. Number three is the Instagram method. This one is underrated. Find businesses that already work with other businesses. For example, graphic designers, printing companies, brand signage companies, uniform companies, photographers, videographers, social media managers. Why? Because every time they post their work, they usually tag the businesses that they worked with. So if a t-shirt printing company posts a new order for a barbershop, food business, gym company, or events company, that business could potentially need a website. Go through the tagged businesses, check if they have a website, check if they have a poor website. Follow them, engage properly, and send a message. You're basically using other businesses as lead lists. Number four, inner circle. Your first client might not come from some perfect outreach strategy. Come from your family, your church, your barber, your parents' workplace, your friends, your old workplace, someone. Someone who knows someone. You need to start telling people what you do. Start, even if you have to do one or two projects for cheaper, use this as an opportunity to build your portfolio, build referrals and build your network. Number five is partnerships. This is probably one of the smartest ways to get clients. Find businesses who already work with the type of clients that you want to work with, but that don't build websites. For example, brand designers, logo designers, social media managers, speaking to business owners. You can reach out and say, if any of the clients that you work with need them to have a website, I'll give you a referral fee. That way, you're just not chasing cold leads every day, you're building a referral channel. So if you're struggling to get more web design clients, don't just sit there changing your portfolio for the 50th time. You need attention, conversations, and you need proof. And you need to find businesses that need exactly what you offer. If you want more web design tips, follow me because I'll be breaking down each of these properly.
