Ranking All 5 Toy Story Films Why Toy Story 4 is the WORST

Because I saw Toy Story 4 last Saturday and with the film that's releasing today I'm ranking all five Toy Story films and today we are ranking the most hated story in the franchise Toy Story 4. This movie gets hate so much, well deserved, let's talk about it. So Toy Story 4 picks up nine years after the release of, now mind you, everybody was on the same page about Toy Story 3 being the perfect conclusion to the franchise. So when the fourth movie was announced, while there was some excitement, people had a lot of questions as to what is the point? And he's off to college, but if you recall, they got a new owner in Bonnie. Now we're going to explore the toys under Bonnie's ownership and Bonnie's life. Bonnie goes to kindergarten, she has a very good first day. So her parents take her on an RV trip to a theme park where the bulk of the movie takes place. It takes place in two locations, really three: an RV outside, the park or in an antique shop. We are in Bonnie's room for the first 10 minutes of it. And they're throwing that element and they're throwing these real world interactions. It already kind of disjointed films the toys. Being able to interact with the room and environment, their own world is what makes Toy Story Toy Story, especially in scenes where the toys start taking hold of the RV driving it and you completely of the element toys. They're functioning a moving vehicle. And while we're introduced to a lot of new toys, being the villain or antagonist, Gabby Gabby, who I believe is the weakest villain of the franchise. What I think takes this film out for a lot of people is that it takes away a lot of the focus of the supporting toys: Rex, Forky, Porky, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Slinky. They all get less screen time in any other movie. It just doesn't feel right. And the big crux of the movie is Woody and Bo Peep reuniting for the very many many years. The driving factor behind the end where Woody leaves Bonnie's room to go out with Bo Peep and find lost toys, which almost betrays what Woody's been doing for the past three Toy Stories, which is keeping the toys together. And yes, there's some funny gags and interactions and I love, but the movie just proves that it really is a cash grab and had no reason to really exist. While I don't agree with this being a bad, I believe it is the only baseline good Toy Story. It's the worst Toy Story, but not a bad one. I would give it three out of five stars. Definitely the least best in the lineup. Today I'm rewatching Toy Story 5. Watch out for my ranking of that tomorrow.
