How I would invest my first $100 ($10,000 saved as an 18 yr old) somebody with over $10,000 saved. Here's how I would invest my first $100 if I was new to investing. So the first thing I would do is since I would be new to investing, I would purchase things like ETFs. So an ETF is an exchange traded fund which is essentially a big basket of stocks. So instead of purchasing one singular stock, I would be buying multiple stocks in one big basket, which is way better for investing in the long term. Now since we're only working with the $100 here, I'll first put my first $50 towards the S&P 500, which is basically tracks the top 500 companies in the US. Now since we need diversification for my portfolio, I would be putting $25 into a tech ETF, which would be QQQM, which basically tracks the top 100 companies in the US, and 58% of those companies are tech stocks. And with our last $25, we would purchase $25 worth of VGT, which is basically a full on tech company, which is $100 full tech ETF.
