Follow us @techlegendshq to continue learning about tech history! Minecraft’s most iconic mob was Notch’s greatest accident. While developing Minecraft, Markus “Notch” Persson wasn’t using professional 3D modeling software. Instead, he created many of the game’s creatures directly in code. While trying to make a pig, he accidentally swapped the dimensions and created a tall, strange-looking creature instead of a long one. Most developers would have deleted the mistake. Notch kept it. That accidental model eventually became the Creeper, one of the most recognizable video game enemies of all time. What started as a coding error would go on to appear in Minecraft merchandise, toys, conventions, marketing campaigns, and become one of the defining symbols of gaming. Minecraft has sold more than 300 million copies, making it the best-selling video game in history. Yet one of its most famous creations wasn’t carefully planned from the beginning. It was a bug that turned into gaming history. #notch #Minecraft #mojang #creeper #game
