During a Q&A, Elon Musk was asked whether Tesla would ever make an aquatic vehicle. His answer? A submarine car is technically possible, but the market would be incredibly small. While he admitted the engineering could be done, he believed it would be more of an enthusiast product than something for the mass market. Ironically, Tesla already has a connection to submarine cars. In 2013, Elon purchased the iconic Lotus Esprit submarine from the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, saying he wanted to upgrade it with a real Tesla electric powertrain.
