When college students that I know who don't have a credit card is baffling to my mind. Because a credit card is genuinely one of the best investments that you can make in your financial future if you use it properly. I've been able to travel the world because of credit card points and I've been able to eat out at incredible restaurants and just have amazing experiences because I chose to get a credit card early on in college. And I understand that it is scary to open a credit card at the age of 18, but it doesn't have to be intimidating. You don't have to open a fancy credit card in your freshman year. In fact, you probably won't even get approved. So just take it step by step, apply and open a basic credit card like the Chase Freedom Unlimited. These are all entry level credit cards that have great benefits and that also lead to more premium credit cards so that you can get the benefits later on. Practice spending money on your credit card every month and paying it off. And then after a year or so of that, you can then apply for more premium credit cards that have travel benefits where you get multiplier on things like dining, food, etc. You will truly be amazed how many of your flights can be covered by credit card points, especially if you're an out of state student, especially if you go to a school where like international spring break trips are like very common. Um, everything can be funded by credit card points. And so many college students just are not in the game. They're not understanding the game because no one has told them to learn the game. Um, so I'm telling you right now that you need to open up a credit card because the benefits are insane. Especially if you're an out of state student, especially if you go to a school where like international spring break trips are like very common. Um, everything can be funded by credit card points.
