U codes all over the screen shouldn't stop you. Here's how to read them. Car comes in, you connect the scan tool. U-codes everywhere, every module seems to have a communication fault. Most texts freeze right then and there. This is actually where diagnosis starts. Network communication faults. They don't mean every module has failed. They mean the modules aren't talking to each other the way that they should. And here's how to read the page full of U codes. First, look for the pattern. If U codes are scattered across every module, the problem is the network, not the modules. Start at the power and grounds for the entire bus. One missing ground can take down the entire CAN network. If the U codes are around one or two modules, keep fine. One module has dropped the bus off. Find that module that's offline and start there. Two, check the fan speed. If you got fans at full speed running wide open with a no start, no communication issue, you have a network that is in a fail safe, so it's defaulted to fan full speed. That tells you something went down before the car stopped starting. Three, power, ground, then the bus in that order. Every time a full screen of U codes is the network telling you it's stressed. It's not telling you to start replacing modules. It's telling you to find what broke the conversation. See you on the next one.
