One of the fastest ways to feel richer is to stop upgrading everything. I mean, it's really that simple. You do not have to earn multiple six figures in order to live the life that you wanna live, especially as a single person. There are plenty of individuals, and you might even know someone in your life, who earn average salaries. They are very middle class, but yet they have so much financial flexibility. If you were to take these different individuals and you look at their habits, I guarantee you there are gonna be a few things that they have in common. And the first thing you might notice is that a lot of them will keep their housing expense as low as possible. That is most people's biggest monthly expense. So if you're paying a lot of money in that area, that's automatically going to reduce how much financial freedom you have. And it's gonna reduce your options. Some of these individuals will live in modest homes with smaller square footage. And as their income increases, they're not running out here and getting a bigger place. They will pay off their car and they will drive it for years thereafter. They don't have a lot of credit card debt. They limit their other smaller monthly expenses, so they may not have a lot of subscriptions. They also use a budget. That's a big one. A lot of times, as people's income increases, they throw the budget out the window, which is one of the biggest mistakes that you can make as your income goes up. The bottom line is that these individuals keep their monthly expenses as low as possible, which gives them the disposable income to save, to invest, and to enjoy life on their terms.
