Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
I just launched my first app on the App Store. So, if that's something you're trying to do yourself, I'm just going to run through how much it cost me, how long it took, every single tool that I used, no BS, just this is what I did. Ignore the mess, I eat at my desk a lot. So, I'm using Claude code. I'm on the cheapest tier. So, I'm only spending about 20 pounds a month for that. I'm not buying yearly, I'm saving. Yeah, you can get a 17% discount. I know. I'm not ready to commit. I'm not going to commit for the tech App stack, I am using a mix of TypeScript, React Native, Expo. To be honest, a lot of this I actually don't need to know anything about. I have quite a bit of experience with it, but I'm by no means a good coder. I used to do more, but for many years, I have not done any. So, Claude code really handles a lot of that information for me. Thank goodness. What you will need to know a little bit more about is database and back-end management. So, I'm on Superbase. I've managed to work with that entirely for free. If this out grows what I need for the free tier, then it's going to end up being $25 a month. For confirmation and verification emails, I'm using resend, and that's also free until 3,000 emails per month. So, I don't think I, a boy can dream, but I don't think I'm going to hit that limit anytime soon with the number of sign-ups. When I hit that limit, the paid tier starts at $20 a month. Expo EAS is what I'm using for the cloud builds, and just understanding how the builds in terminal, I'm using a MacBook. It also helps with auto-submitting all the new updates to test flight and the App Store. I'm currently on the free version, which gives you 15 builds a month, which I've nearly hit the limit a couple of times. The production plan is $99 a month. So, I'm kind of staggering to make sure I don't end up hitting over that threshold or need more of it. They do have a pay as you build option though, if that's something that's a bit more sustainable for you. In order to submit onto the App Store, you and to access the App Store everything, you do need to have a developer account with Apple, and that's $99 a year. I went and bought a website name and domain. I forget how much I actually spent on it. I think it was about $20 a year. And I'm hosting all my code in GitHub, and that's free. Since it's taken me three months to build, that's about, probably about $180. Let's round up and say 200, but that's going to be quite high. I'm pretty happy with that. If you've built something before, does that meet expectations? Am I high? Am I low? Is this build if you're trying to do something as well?
