So this is what coding like a senior engineer looks like for me now. I'm building a drag and drop data visualization tool using React, and instead of just coding, I start in plan mode. Claude is helping me design my architecture before I write a single line, and I'm telling it to use the Vega Lite visualization library. And it authors a plan, I approve it, and then Claude Opus 4.5 builds. Like watch this, it scaffolds components, sets up the drag and drop logic, and it even wires up Vega, something that requires a ton of domain knowledge and used to take me a couple of hours. But I'm still in control. Like right here, Claude suggested that some of these fields are ordinal, but sometimes users want to make them nominal. And that's how I apply my data visualization domain knowledge. I tell it to make that UI change, and here's the result. Drag horsepower to X, miles per gallon to Y, toss the cylinders in the color encoding, and we have a complete drag and drop data visualization tool that also looks beautiful, thanks to the Claude code front end design plugin. This is how I ship code as a senior engineer. The VSCode integration, the smart planning, Opus 4.5 and Claude code, just get it. You gotta try it for yourself.
