If your parents didn't teach you how to invest, I'm going to teach you how right now. This is seven years of experience in one minute, which allowed me to invest 30 grand into stocks and ETFs while working a minimum wage job. And because of the knowledge and the discipline I accumulated, by the time I started my full-time job, that made investing a whole lot easier, because those two things matter much more than how much money you make. You want to start investing because there is a limit to the amount of time you can trade into to earn income. Investing breaks that barrier. So you're going to go into the App Store and find a brokerage account and download its app. When I was a beginner, I used Robinhood. Now I use Fidelity and SoFi. You're going to install the app and sign up for an account for free. You are going to sign up for an account called a Roth IRA. This is an individual retirement account that's tax-advantaged where you can make max contributions of up to 7 to 8,000 dollars every year. Think of the Roth IRA as a house. To make a house livable and functional, you need to put furniture and appliances into it. And a Roth IRA functions by growing your money. So to grow your money, you need to put stocks and ETFs into the Roth IRA. So you're going to link a bank account and transfer the money that you're going to start using to investing. I don't care if you have only 5, 50, or 500 dollars, any amount is the best amount to get started. At the start, just keep it simple by putting your money into an ETF that auto-diversifies your money across hundreds of companies that you don't have to spend time researching one by one. There are thousands out there, but I want you to go into the search bar and type in one called VOO. That's the S&P 500, the 500 most valuable companies in the US. Tried and true returns, everyone recommends it, everyone loves it. And you're going to automate the process by setting up automatic recurring transfers on a monthly, bi-weekly or weekly basis. You're going to treat it like a bill. You're not going to try to time the markets, you're not going to freak out when stocks go down. You are going to consistently invest, whether it is every month, every time you get paid, or every week. Final step is to get your money up so that you can invest more but to also enjoy your life. Like I said, when I was working in retail, I was blessed enough to still have some money left over to invest. So by the time I was working full-time, that made things a whole lot easier, and I want the same for you. Have a nice day.
